Description

My contribution to :iconagentc-24:'s artjam, which is a comic wow! I'll probably never finish this properly because im trash :T I just wanted to upload the WIP at least because the jam ends at the end of the month (I haven't even finished the comic but i'll see if I can wow I AM trash)

say hello to Detective Amelia Shapiro, and partner* Conrad Mulligan Jr. B) Shapiro's no-nonsense, and Mulligan's a big schlemiel, but he does really like his job c:

also if you did manage to read this junk you may've noticed somethings a lil off about Mulligan. well that's not because im as sharp as a sack of wet mice (well it is), that's because Mulligan's a spider "ghoul" ("Freak isn't politically correct), and has six arms, for better sleuthing and more hot choclety milk drinkin. He also has a super Brooklin accent, so take that into note I guess. :T

enjoy, I guess~ BT

*Mulligan isn't cool enough to be Shapiro's partner yet. he's still a lackey I suppose~

First and foremost, sorry for the late comment. I really wanted to comment earlier, but I had the jam to wrap up (deadlines for myself as well, so you have my empathy).

Secondly, it takes a lot of courage, determination and effort to try a medium you haven't done before, especially when also introducing characters to the public, so you have my respect and kudos for toughing it out for this impressive comic.

And thirdly, if you told me this was the final product sans color, you could have fooled me! Your flowing linework and simple style really harken back to both classic comics like Blondie as well as famous b&w characatures artists like Al Hirschfeld (a personal fave of mine in that regard). I also love the already-apparent rapport between Shapiro and Mulligan (great detective agency name, hehe). You really impressed with this first attempt, so be proud of what you could accomplish here!

Sorry for the long winded comment. I did see your posts saying you were going crazy with this, and I genuinely hope it didn't frazzle you too badly. The results were fantastic, and you definitely showed that you could have a great knack for comics if you were inspired so! :) You certainly have my support as well as others on here I see of you decide to try one again!
